About PON
Since 1958, the company has moved with the technological times to become one of the UK’s most regarded M&E contractors. We generate an annual turnover in excess of £15million and work with clients from Electrolux, Shell and General Motors through to Bloomberg and the Open University, as well as airports around the UK. We work closely on a partnership basis with some of the largest construction companies in the country.
From multi-million pound contracts through to a custom, single-site install, from crafting innovative, bespoke lighting systems to relocating an entire motor factory, our technologists thrive on the biggest M&E challenges, whether from the design level upwards or working, simply, as part of your team.
Investing in People
It is the skills and professionalism of the people who work for us that keep us competitive in the fast-moving world of M&E technologies. And so, we invest in our people.
At PON, investment in people begins from the ground up. Our apprentices learn from master technicians on our in-house training programme, compliant with the best industry standard, JTL, and leading to the nationally recognised qualification NVQ3.
Our dynamic team includes contracts and project managers, project engineers, CAD and design engineers and site supervisors – every skill-set required to value engineer today’s technologies to each customer’s individual requirements.
Learning is a lifelong process, and the electromechanical industry never slows down. So all of PON’s approved electricians, pipefitters, welders, duct workers, plumbers and apprentices are not only assessed using the JIB Certification Scheme, but actively encouraged to develop as skilled craftspeople.
Driving Quality
As a family-owned business, quality, continual improvement and – of course – our people’s, our partners’ and our clients’ safety are at the heart of our work. We are members of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC), and are Gas Safe approved.
Market-leading, process-based quality management enables us to look constantly at our processes and improve month-on-month, year-on-year. This policy of continual improvement has been recognised with the prestigious ISO 9001:2001, the world’s leading quality management standard.
Thanks to rigorous, innovative safety policies and practices, we enjoy a benchmark health and safety record.
Customer-focused
As a privately-owned business, we pride ourselves on developing a close company-client working relationship from the very first email or phone call, through signoff, and into the regular routine of inspection and maintenance.
Smart, focused and proactive, our in-house contracts managers, project managers and site supervisors keep rojects competitive and costeffective, one reason among many for our high client retention rate.
Energy Efficient
We recognise that our activities can impact the environment our children live in. And so we go above and beyond BS EN ISO 14001 to minimise the carbon cost and environmental impact of the work we do, and seek sustainable solutions to on-site challenges.
From apprentice through to project manager, every single member of our team works to minimise energy use, reduce waste, and reuse or recycle wherever practically possible. Whether on site or in the office, we work with an eye to the challenges of the low-carbon, lowenergy future.
Design
With the latest NICEIC software, AutoCAD, Building Information Modelling (BIM), REVIT and AO plotting echnologies in-house, as well as our own design and CAD engineering team, we can value engineer, design, plan, build, install, test and maintain every M&E project from the macro to the micro.
Be it a large-scale design and build project or routine maintenance, our dynamic in-house contracts management team keep contracts on time, on spec and within budget.
